US Elections

I am in Missouri, USA. Today we voted to see who will be our next President. I went to the voting place at 5:45am and by 7am I had voted.
Tonight I will be glued to the TV to see who wins.

It will be very interesting to see what comes next. I was very impressed by the speeches each candidate gave congratulating each other for a fair and peaceful election.
It is a great discussion with our students here about accepting results and moving on.
What is fascinating for many here is the election of an African-American as the President. A totally historic event in the USA considering a terrible history of civil rights abuses and slavery.

There is a lot of talk here about how Obama will deal with all of the issues when he takes office. Big issues being discussed are how he will deal with Iraq, Israeli- Palestinian issues, Iran, and Afghansitan...
The East ("Middle East" here) is much on our minds for thousands of reasons.
I hope all is well in Lebanon. Here it has gotten cold and all of the leaves are falling from the trees.
